***Hot Tips from Ms. G on Researching/Organizing Sources***
Create a Google folder for your project and share it with everyone in the group.
For your individual paper, you can create a folder just for you and copy sources over (not completely necessary but it may help you feel more organized if your individual paper takes a different direction than the group work)
Download sources you find as a PDF and immediately add them to the shared folder.
Have a running Google Doc in the folder to have a list of potential sources that may not be downloadable.
Link to websites, list book titles, page numbers, etc. (List everything you would need to know to find it again!)
Note PDF sources on this doc as well and link them to the file itself in the folder.
This creates a sort of index for the sources you are working with. Easy access!
Save everything that seems semi-relevant!
Even if it's not quite what you need at the moment - You will be sad if you want to use it later and can't find it again!!!
As you use a source in your project or paper, move it into a final folder and/or highlight it on your Google Doc
This way you know which sources you are focusing on and will need to be added to your Works Cited page.
Utilize the comment feature on Google Docs
Mark where you need to edit, revise, condense, add citations, etc.
If you're on a roll while writing, add a placeholder citation using a comment, highlight, etc. Just something that will remind you what source it came from and that you still need to go back and add more to complete the citation.
