Our privilege system at Golden Valley is set up to support the three areas of student life that contribute most to success: Behavior, Grades, and Attendance
All students who are in good standing in those three areas will have the privilege of accesses all extra events & opportunities on campus. These events & opportunities include: games, rallies, dances, off-campus passes for 11th & 12th graders.
The following reasons will cause a student to lose privileges:
Attendance with 20 or more periods of unexcused absence or tardy within one 10 week Quarter
Grade Point Average (GPA) below a 2.0 in the previous 10 week Quarter
Behavior that has resulted in an all day suspension in the previous Semester.
*During Quarter 1, Loss of Privileges (LOP) will not apply to 9th graders or new students enrolling at Golden Valley for the first time in the 2023/24 school year.
How can you get yourself off the LOP list once you are on it?
The LOP list resets after each 10 week Quarter
If you lost privileges due to grades, then you will need to raise your GPA to a 2.00 or higher in the CURRENT Quarter in order to get privileges back NEXT Quarter.
If you lost privileges due to attendance, it might be because you have absences that your family still needs to clear. If that's the case, then you can get privileges back after your attendance is updated in Infinite Campus - see your Assistant Principal to get cleared from the LOP List.
If you lost privileges due to attendance, and you were tardy too often or skipped class, then improve to show excellent attendance in the CURRENT Quarter in order to get privileges back NEXT Quarter. Excellent attendance is no more than 2 tardy or unexcused absence in a week, on average.
If you lost privileges due to behavior, then keep a good discipline history in the CURRENT Semester in order to get privileges back NEXT Semester.

Loss of privileges is in effect starting Monday 3/18/24. GPA will not be included until Weds 3/20/24
