About
Library Statistics
Where does the money come from? The Hart District gives each school a small pool of funds each year. Beyond the initial $1000 for junior highs (the equivalent of purchasing 40-50 hardbound books) it is up to each school site to secure additional funds to keep library collections updated and in good repair. Donations are always appreciated.
How are purchases selected? All library books are selected in accordance with the Hart District selection policy. The librarian consults a wide variety of resources including, but not limited to professional reviews, content experts (teachers), student suggestions, and current collection analysis, in the selection process. All resources selected for our school library are chosen to meet the needs of our current patrons and reflect a diversity of perspectives.

Textbooks
Students at La Mesa receive a set of textbooks to keep at home for the school year. Record all textbook damage on the online textbook card (link below). You are responsible for any loss or damage not documented at checkout. Fines will be assessed when the books are collected. All textbooks should be kept covered. Do not use adhesive covers of any kind. They damage the texts.
English, History, and Math textbooks have an online edition. Students should ask their teacher for log-in information.
