What is a Scholarship?
It's free money! Scholarships can be awarded for many reasons—academic ability, athletic talent, interests, demographics, career goals, etc. There are thousands of scholarships available. It can’t hurt to apply! Many scholarships go unawared because students don't apply. Watch the videos below for some tips. We have listed 4 different websites to start your search. Santa Clarita Valley Association of California School Administrators (SCV ACSA)
Amount of Award: $500
Deadline: May 3, 2024
Criteria and Eligibility for the Future Leaders Scholarship:
Must have attended Santa Clarita Valley Schools for at least 7 years, including at least 1 year at a public elementary school in the Santa Clarita Valley.
Applicants must have already applied for admittance into a trade school, community college, and/or four-year college/university
Applicants must have a current unweighted GPA of at least 2.5
How can I apply?
The application has 2 components:

2) Essay written by the applicant: One page, single-spaced (typed; 12 pt. font)
Address the Following Topic:
Tell us about a significant experience you had while attending a Santa Clarita-area public school that
had a profound impact on your personal growth. Identify a specific Santa Clarita Valley public school
educator who played a role in this experience, whether from elementary, junior high, or high school.
Explain why this experience was meaningful to you and how this educator's actions or guidance
influenced your personal growth. Share specific examples or anecdotes that demonstrate the unique
and personal impact this educator had on your life.

Behavioral Health Scholarship Program
California's Department of Health Care Access and Information
Deadline: May 24, 2024
Criteria and Eligibility for the Future Leaders Scholarship:
California's Department of Health Care Access and Information will cover one year of education at a California University or community college with a maximum award of $35,000 per student. Recipients must be willing to study human services, addiction studies or social work and, after graduation, commit to a service obligation for one year as a Certified Wellness Coach.

Future Leaders Scholarship
NAACP Santa Clarita
Amount of Award: $2,000
Deadline: May 15, 2024
Criteria and Eligibility for the Future Leaders Scholarship:
• Must be an African American/Black resident of the Santa Clarita Valley
• A high school senior graduating class of the 2023/2024 school year.
• Grade point average of 2.5 (C+) or above
• Provide an unofficial copy of high school or undergraduate transcripts.

Kids Chance California
Helping kids of injured workers

What does a Kids’ Chance scholarship include?
• Scholarship awards range from $1,000 to $10,000 per year and are paid in two installments directly
to the student’s account at the school’s financial aid office.
• Students can reapply every year they are enrolled in school and are meeting the satisfactory
academic progress guidelines of their school.
• Awards can be used for tuition, books, fees, student housing or other school‐related costs that are
payable through a financial aid account.
• When students receive a Kids’ Chance of California scholarship, they join a rich community that
includes accomplished professionals who volunteer to mentor and network on a student’s behalf for
internships and job opportunities. Many of our scholarship students attend our events to tell their
stories. This can help us raise money and awareness among potential applicants and donors.

Pflag Scv Announces Stabile Pflag Scholarship
Amount of Award: $500

"PFLAG SCV Announces Peggy and Jeff Stabile Scholarship for LGBTQIA+ Students in Santa Clarita Valley"
PFLAG Santa Clarita Valley has established the Peggy and Jeff Stabile PFLAG SCV Scholarship for LGBTQIA+ graduating senior students in the area pursuing higher education and advocating for LGBTQIA+ rights. The scholarship requirements include residency in the Santa Clarita Valley or Antelope Valley, identification as LGBTQIA+, a 2.5 GPA, and involvement in community support, education, or advocacy. Deadline for applications is May 15, 2024, and the scholarship amount is $500.

Canyon Theatre Guild - Senior Scholarship Opportunity
Amount of Award: $750
Deadline: April 30, 2024
Will you be pursuing a Degree or Certificate in the Performing Arts?
The Guild will once again be offering multiple scholarships for $750 each to graduating seniors!
While this scholarship was created for students with interest/experience in the performing arts, it is not a requirement to apply!

Qualification: Applicant must be a graduating High school senior in the Santa Clarita Valley.
1. Please attach a photo for identification purposes and return this application along with your
essay, resume and two letters of recommendation to the CTG Box Office, attention: Erin
Sweeney, or email directly ctgboxoffice@yahoo.com no later than April 30, 2024.
2. If necessary, we will call you to schedule an interview. In the interview, be prepared to
communicate your goals and to answer questions regarding experiences you have had which
have led you to developing these goals, as well as your plans to attain them.
3. Write an ESSAY: In 300 words or less, outline your goals for the future. Include a description
of the skills and qualities you have that will help you fulfill these goals. Include information
describing how you learned or developed those skills and qualities.
4. Letters of Recommendation: Please have two letters of recommendation from adults who you
feel have the perspective to honestly describe you. Former teachers, administrators, employers
and/or directors would be suitable references. The letters should include information on your
experiences together and specific examples of ways in which you have demonstrated desirable
qualities.
5. Resume: Your resume should include any experience you have had at the Canyon Theatre
Guild, as well as any awards or recognitions you have received. You do not have to have had
CTG experience to be eligible, but if you have had any, we would like to know about it!
