Coach Maysen has over 20 years of experience in cheerleading, as an athlete and as a coach. She began her cheer career with SCV All-Stars as an all-star cheerleader and went on to cheer at West Ranch High School, where she served as captain of the sideline cheer team and was a member of the competition team. After high school, she cheered at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas, on the all-girl Division 1 cheer team and worked as a staff member for the Universal Cheerleaders Association (UCA). Coach Maysen has also worked for Varsity Spirit as a judge, manager, and in merchandise, and has judged at several national cheer competitions across the United States. She brings extensive expertise in both tumbling and stunting to her coaching. Currently, she is the Head Cheer Coach and Advisor at Castaic High School, where she started the cheer program and is now in her eighth year of coaching at Castaic. In addition to her coaching role, Coach Maysen teaches Special Education at Castaic High School. She is also excitedly expecting her first child, a baby boy, in September.
This is Coach Sara's first full season as an Assistant Coach at Castaic High School. She is currently in her fourth year as the Head Coach of the Santa Clarita Wildcats Youth Cheer program and also serves as the Little Wildcats Competition Coach. Her passion for cheerleading began in third grade when she started cheering in Pop Warner. She went on to cheer for three years in high school, serving as team captain for all three seasons. In college, she continued her cheer career as a member of the Titan Elite All-Star team and also worked as a high school cheer coach at Pacifica High School. In addition to her coaching experience, she has a background in education, having previously worked as an elementary school teacher for both second and sixth grades. She currently teaches kids yoga at Live Oak Elementary, Castaic Elementary, and Thermal Horizons. She is also a proud mom of three cheerleaders and loves sharing her passion for the sport with young athletes.
Coach Izzy is a proud graduate of Castaic High School and a member of the school’s first-ever cheer team. She cheered on the Castaic Cheer team all four years of high school, from freshman through senior year, and quickly developed a love for stunting and the hard work that comes with it. She served as captain of the Varsity team during her time at Castaic. Coach Izzy is currently attending College of the Canyons and is pursuing a career in Psychology. She is now in her third year of coaching Castaic Cheer, sharing her experience and passion for the program with the next generation of athletes.
