We have three choir classes at Canyon High School in addition to a lunchtime Tenor Bass (Men's) Choir that doesn't receive credit. All auditions are held at Canyon High School in the Choir Room, Q Building. You can audition for any and all choirs you would like!
Show Choir is a super fun class that fulfills PE credit for 9-10th graders and Fine Arts for 11-12th graders. This class is our entry-level, beginning choir and is perfect for students who have never sung before. The audition for the 26-27 school year will be in April, exact date TBD. For the audition, students will be taught a short song and dance and don't need to prepare anything in advance. Please wear clothes you can move in and dance shoes or sneakers.
Concert Choir is usually our intermediate choir. For the 25-26 school year, it will be an advanced treble choir. Students in this class should generally have some singing experience or 1-2 years of choir. The auditions are one-on-one. Students should prepare a 1-min excerpt of a song (any style) that showcases their voice. Mrs. Caswell will take students through vocal warm ups and other assessments that students do not have to prepare for. Set up an audition with Mrs. Caswell by emailing kcaswell@hartdistrict.org. For students interested in auditioning for the 26-27 school year, check back here in February.
Madrigals is our advanced choir. Students in this class should have a fair amount of singing experience, an excellent ear, and strong work ethic. Students in Madrigals also learn a jazz/a cappella set and participate in festivals and competitions. For the audition, students will be given sheet music and vocal part recordings to learn a short piece of music on their own. For students interested in auditioning for the 26-27 school year, check back here in February.
See Mrs. Caswell in Q113 or email kcaswell@hartdistrict to schedule an audition.
Auditions for the 2026-27 school year will take place in March-April 2026.
