The Chartreuse Muse

The Chartreuse Muse opened its doors as a contemporary gallery in Modesto in 2002. In September of 2007, The Muse moved to its new location at 918 10th Street, right across from the Gallo Center and into the heart of downtown Modesto.

The Chartreuse Muse is also an Art School. Muse teaching artists offer a curriculum to suit all interests, for students from preschool through adulthood. All skill levels are welcome, and classes are designed to be continuous so that students can build their skills.

In 2017 The Muse added the Clay Studio, a fully equipped studio dedicated solely to the clay arts, including potters wheels, slab roller, wet cabinet, kiln and more. Offering pottery and clay classes that are not available anywhere else in the Central Valley!
