Honor Societies

We have two Honor Societies at Hart-Ransom Academic Charter - California Scholarship Federation (CSF) and the National Honor Society (NHS). CSF is recognized statewide and NHS is recognized nationwide. Both of these societies look great on college and scholarship resumes. Here is how you can qualify:

CSF - California Scholarship Federation

A CSF Life Member has met CSF qualifications and will wear a gold sash at graduation as well as receive a lamp pin and have the CSF seal on their diploma.

How to qualify as a CSF Life Member—

· Attend each CSF meeting that is held. Semester 1 meetings will cover Semester 2 grades from the previous school year. Semester 2 meetings will cover Semester 1 grades of the same school year.

· Fill out an application. These will be handed out and explained at the CSF meetings.

· Starting in the sophomore year, students must take at least 4 academic courses each semester and receive grades of A’s or B’s in those classes. 

· You need to qualify for at least 4 out of the 6 semesters starting your sophomore year and you MUST qualify in the first semester of your Senior year.

· You will need to make sure to schedule enough academic classes. If not, you may need to make changes if possible.

· It is YOUR responsibility to keep up with CSF each semester.  

· For each semester you qualify, you may list on scholarships and applications that you are a CSF member.


NHS-National Honor Society

An NHS life member has met all qualifications and will wear a medallion at graduation.

How to qualify as an NHS Member—

· NHS is by invitation only. If you receive an invitation email, you are responsible to fill out and return the application by the deadline. To receive an invite you must have an overall GPA of 3.75, community service and leadership experience.

·  Qualification is once a year and is based on current overall GPA. 

· In order to be recognized at graduation, you need to qualify for at least 2 out of the 3 years starting your sophomore year and you MUST qualify in the first semester of your Senior year.

· For each year you qualify, you may list on scholarships and applications that you are an NHS member.
