On the last day of term, our learners stood outside collecting donations for Mufti Christmas Jumper Day in support of Cancer Research! 🎄💛
Thank you to everyone who helped raise funds for this important cause.
Well done to Olivia, our amazing Year 8 learner, who brought full-on holiday sparkle to reception. Her decoraing skills have transformed our reception into a winter wonderland! ❄️🌟
In the last week of term, learners and staff enjoyed a delicious festive lunch from Caterlink, featuring a juicy Festive Roast Dinner with all the trimmings, a scrumptious Vegetable Wellington, and a traditional Christmas Cake to finish.
Now that the weather is colder and the nights darker please make sure that your child has a warm winter coat. We ask that they are of a dark colour (preferably navy or black) with some fluorescent strips. No coat should be obviously branded. For additional warmth, children are allowed to wear base-layers in white, navy or black underneath their uniform. Woollen hats, scarves and gloves are permitted, once again in dark colours. Girls can wear either skirts or trousers. Skirts must be between the knee and ankle.
All children are expected to wear the complete Harrow High School, which includes the navy v-neck jumper for everyday and the navy tracksuit top for PE. Childen should not wear their navy v-neck jumper with their PE kit.
Those that do will be asked to correct it. Please contact the school office if you need assistance. We can provide 'preloved' jumpers and tracksuit tops.
Uniform is available from Pullens, 48-50 Church Road, Stanmore, HA7 4AH. You can also order them online at www.uniform4kids.com but please order early to allow time for delivery.
Please make sure that all uniform items are clearly labelled with your child's name.
After Hurricane Melissa devastated homes in Jamaica and damaged schools in Montego Bay, St. James, we came together to support Herbert Morrison Technical High School. Thanks to the generosity of our families and the learners who bought doughnuts, cakes, and croissants, we successfully raised £699.26 to help the school rebuild and recover.

Year 9 learners recently enjoyed a brilliant history trip to HMS Belfast. They explored key areas of the ship, including the engine rooms, the bridge, the operations rooms, the sailors’ mess decks, the sick bay, and the huge gun turrets. Seeing these real spaces helped them understand how sailors lived and worked during the Second World War and the Korean War.

This week, our Year 11 learners had the opportunity to explore Harrow College during a special Taster Day. They toured the campus, got a feel for college life, and tried out a range of hands-on activities, including an exciting science session. It was a fantastic way for learners to experience the practical side of learning and begin thinking about their next steps after Year 11.

On Friday 5th December 2025, our learners performed a hilarious modern twist on Goldilocks and the Three Bears. With 100 audience members, 40 learners, 10 staff performers, and a visit from the Mayor of Harrow, the evening was a great success. We also raised £150 for Harrow Food Bank.
Performers loved the humour, originality, and chance to make the characters their own—a fantastic night for everyone!

Our Year 7 learners recently had the exciting opportunity to visit Middlesex University and experience life on a large university campus. They were given a guided tour of the impressive facilities and took part in interactive workshops, where they designed their own universities and explored what they might like to study in the future.
The visit encouraged learners to think about potential career paths and inspired them to consider the many opportunities available to them as they continue their educational journey.

Our Year 7 volleyball team has been in action this term. Hosted at Salvatorian, our group of boys and girls put on a great display of skill and determination, coming second place out of seven schools and just losing out to the hosts Salvatorian A-team in a close contested game. Semi finals are scheduled to be played after the new year.
Exciting times ahead for our Year 7 volleyball team!
I’m pleased to announce that all of our football teams through Year 8 to 11 have made it past their group stages and are now into the quarter finals. Clear standouts have been our Year 9 team, who beat both Park High and Whitefriars. Within two games, these boys have scored 17 goals and conceded two. Season looks promising.
Our Year 9, 10 and 11 basketball teams have all been in action this term. After a long awaited home fixture. Our Year 10 basketball team showed confidence, grit and commitment on the court beating a good school who came to win in their first game of the season. Shoutouts go to Dylan for those three pointers and Noah for his defence.
The end of term saw the PE department hosting an KS3
inter-form dodgeball competition.
Years 7 to 9 made their best teams and competed for the best form accolade. This was great fun for all. Dodgeball photos attached below.

We are delighted to share that one of our Year 13 learners recently had the incredible opportunity to interview with a professor from the University of Cambridge.
“The interview left me feeling confident, enthusiastic and fully engaged. It gave me a chance to reflect on my strengths and prepare as a prospective Cambridge applicant. I’m proud of how far I’ve come and hope to continue this journey toward one of the world’s most prestigious universities.”

Our MedSoc learners recently had the opportunity to attend the third session of a Cancer Biology Supercurricular Lecture Series at Harrow School. The lecture focused on the Cell Cycle and the role of cyclins in regulating this vital process.
It was a particularly proud moment for the school community, as we reflected on a former pupil who won the Nobel Prize in Physiology/Medicine in 2001 for work on this very topic.
We extend our thanks to the organisers and hosts for providing our learners with such an inspiring and educational experience.

Our Sixth Form Open Evening proved to be an outstanding success, welcoming around 130 prospective students and their families into the school. From the moment the doors opened, the atmosphere was warm, energetic and full of curiosity, reflecting the strength of our Sixth Form community.
The evening showcased the very best of Harrow High. Teachers across all departments prepared engaging displays and delivered inspiring taster lessons that truly captured the interest of visitors. The feedback from students and parents has been overwhelmingly positive, with many commenting on the passion, clarity, and expertise of our staff..
The success of the Open Evening stands as a testament to the collective effort of our whole school community. It highlighted not only the academic opportunities within our Sixth Form but also the commitment, care, and enthusiasm that our staff bring to students every single day.

As we look ahead to the upcoming Christmas holiday break, we are writing to you to outline the school’s strategy for independent learning. Our goal is to ensure students maintain academic momentum and minimize the risk of learning loss over the extended period away from school.
Consistency and continuity are vital, particularly for students preparing for crucial external examinations. We believe a structured approach to independent study during the break provides valuable structure for families and reinforces classroom learning.
A Note on Teacher Monitoring
While our teachers will be setting this work, please be advised that they will not be monitoring or marking work during the holiday break. The primary purpose of this work is to maintain consistency, structure the break, and prepare for the new term. Formal marking and feedback will commence upon the students' return in January.

Deputy Headteacher
Thank you in advance for your cooperation in supporting your child’s academic commitment. We wish you a peaceful and enjoyable festive season.
We are encouraging all our parents and carers to make sure that they have access to our Parent Portal & App. The Parent Portal and App are key ways for school to communicate with you.
If you have not downloaded the App or accessed the Portal, please contact the ICT Team (ictteam@harrowhigh.com) at Harrow High School who will help you set up your accounts.
The following article will help you get started: Log into the Parent Portal and the Parent App.
Young Harrow Foundation have developed a new hub for cost of living support on their website: www.youngharrowfoundation.org/cost-of-living-support
This hub aims to signposts people to local services from the voluntary sector and local authority - and is particularly aimed at families or carers that have children and young people in their household. The online hub, developed by Young Harrow Foundation, lists services that can help with things like, mental health and wellbeing, warm hubs in the borough, help with accessing food, housing support and low cost furniture providers.
We kindly remind all learners to stay alert and keep their phones away when crossing roads near the school. Even a momentary distraction can be dangerous, so we encourage everyone to look up, listen, and be aware of traffic. By practicing this simple habit, our learners can stay safe and set a great example for others in the community.
