On 27th March, Harrow High was buzzing with colour, music, and excitement as learners and staff came together to celebrate Culture Day. Everyone proudly wore traditional outfits representing their own cultures, sharing stories, customs, and traditions that make our school community so rich and diverse.
The canteen became a true taste of the world, with learners sampling a variety of international dishes and discovering new flavours from different countries. It was a delicious way to explore the global community within our school.
The highlight of the day was the Culture Day Catwalk, where learners confidently showcased their traditional attire and shared a little about their heritage. The atmosphere was full of pride, joy, and curiosity as everyone celebrated the uniqueness of each culture.
Events like Culture Day are a wonderful reminder of the importance of embracing diversity. At Harrow High, we are proud to create a welcoming and inclusive environment where every learner feels empowered to celebrate their identity and share their cultural heritage with confidence.
Our learners and staff had great fun celebrating World Book Day by dressing up as their favourite book and story characters. The school was full of creativity, with costumes ranging from Disney characters to a balloon outfit, a cow, and even Harry Potter. The celebration ended with a lively catwalk where learners proudly showed off their outfits. It was a wonderful way to celebrate reading, imagination, and a love of books. 📚✨
STEM Week
The last week of term marked STEM Week for our Maths and Science departments. STEM Week is a celebration of Science, Technology, Engineering and Maths which gives our learners the chance to take part in some exciting projects.
Year 7 created parachutes to protect an egg being dropped; Year 8 designed and launched bottle rockets; Year 9 became aspiring engineers, building spaghetti and marshmallow bridges; and Year 10 built boats designed to withstand great mass!
We were so impressed by the ingenuity and creativity shown by our students who worked brilliantly in their teams on their projects. Everyone was really engaged and we hope the week's activities have inspired our students to become the next generation of scientists, mathematicians and engineers!

Our learners recently attended the Voice in a Million concert, joining around 6,000 young people from schools across the UK for a truly spectacular event. Held at Wembley Arena, the experience allowed learners to witness the power of music on a large scale, with an electric atmosphere, impressive performances, and a strong sense of community. It was an inspiring opportunity that many will remember for years to come.Â

They had the opportunity to explore a range of universities and apprenticeship providers, ask questions, and gather information about different pathways. The visit was a valuable experience to help learners start thinking about their next steps after sixth form and plan for their future.

Learners enjoyed a hands-on lesson in Food Technology as they took part in Tapas Day, preparing a variety of Spanish dishes. From carefully selecting ingredients to presenting their final plates, they worked with creativity and enthusiasm throughout. It was a fun and practical way to explore Spanish culture while developing valuable cooking skills and confidence in the kitchen.

Year 8 learners have been busy creating projects for their geography class, exploring topics from climate change to local landscapes. The projects allowed learners to research, design, and present their findings creatively, developing both their knowledge and practical skills. It was exciting to see the variety of approaches and ideas, showing how learners engage with the world around them in thoughtful and imaginative ways.Â

Our school community came together to celebrate International Women's Day with a thoughtful gesture. Learners handed out pink and yellow roses to their peers, while staff also shared roses with colleagues. It was a lovely way to recognise and celebrate the women and girls in our school community and to spread kindness throughout the day. 🌸

Our incredible Youth Health Champions have been busy this term. Stepping into the spotlight during their Personal Development lesson, the group managed to channel their pre-show nerves into a polished, professional, and powerful performance.
It wasn’t just about the health facts, though—the real highlight was watching their confidence soar. They didn't just deliver a presentation; they owned the room!
Youth Health Champions (YHC) are student ambassadors who are trained to make their school a healthier and happier place.
Think of them as the bridge between the students and the school's health services. Instead of a teacher lecturing about health, these students lead the way because peers are often much more likely to listen to—and trust—one another.
Meet the Champions
A huge round of applause goes to our stellar team: Elizabeth, Omar, Matthew, Mira, Alesia and Ansh
"They were so excited to get started, and seeing them succeed today was a proud moment for everyone involved. The growth in their confidence has been wonderful to witness!"
Keep an eye out for these faces—they are making our school a healthier, happier place.

Our Sixth Form Senior Team recently led an engaging and inspiring assembly on neurodiversity for their peers. They shared insights into different ways of thinking and learning, sparking meaningful conversations and encouraging everyone to celebrate individuality.
