Last term we were unable to celebrate our ‘Rewards Assembly’ in our traditional style with parental attendance. However I would still like to congratulate all of the Year 7 learners who received rewards for maintaining our school values and for their hard work in individual subject areas

Year 8's would have completed their final lesson of Barclays Life Skills on Friday 5 May. Learners have really enjoyed the workshop where they have worked on skills necessary for job applications, money management and when they encounter challenging situations. Our learners have stated that the workshop allowed them to ''engage in critical thinking'' and that they wish this was not the last one!
Now that the summer term is in full swing, Year 8 have summer Aspiration Trips to look forward to, sports competitions and various prizes to be won for attendance and positive behaviour.

Year 9s have been sorting through their Key Stage 4 Options in the last few weeks. The conversation around options culminated in the Year 9 Online Parents' Evening, where families were able to discuss current performance and behaviour of Year 9 students, and form a clearer idea of subjects and their Key Stage 4 equivalents.
Strike days were unfortunately not well-attended online by the Year 9 Cohort as a whole - while strike days are occurring it is important we have all studentsTo online for learning and lessons with their teachers, unless circumstances do not allow so.
To finish last week, year 9s were presented with a modern, relatable performance of Romeo and Juliet, presented by Box Theatre Company, organized by our head of Performing Arts, Mr Lodge. It made for refreshing viewing at a challenging time in the school year.'

This term Year 10 Drama students were given the opportunity to watch a performance of To Kill a Mockingbird at the theatre: an experience that they all thoroughly enjoyed which will proof invaluable in their understanding of and approach to Drama.
A select few learners were also given the opportunity to attend Queen Mary University as part of an enrichment programme, where they were able to take part in team building activities, go on a tour of the campus and get a deeper understanding of university life and courses.
Well done to those learners who have been completing their GCSE Modern Foreign Languages examinations. This was their first taste of GCSE exams and they all equipped themselves well. The experience alone will be most useful in Year 11 when they will complete the full set of exams.
Please be aware that the timetable for Year 10 Pre-Public Examinations has also now been shared with learners. Encourage your child to begin prioritising revision in order to ensure they are on target for Year 11. Details of dates, times and exam boards will be shared on Google classroom to ensure their revision is well targeted.
Finally, can I draw your attention once again to improper use of social media and phones. Please remind your child to use the internet wisely and remain vigilant about what they share and post.

Exams have started!
It has been incredible to see so many Year 11 learners attending our breakfast club and looking so focused on their learning.
We are extremely proud of the hard work they have put in for the past few years and are looking forward to receiving the results in late August. We are sure their hard work will pay off!
Please note that we are accepting the last payments for places at the Year 11 Prom. The full amount (deposit and final payment) are both available on ParentPay and we kindly ask for those to be done as soon as possible.
Mr Charles
Study leave begins for Year 12 learners next week as the AS and BTEC exam series starts. This is an incredibly important time for the Sixth Form and we want to encourage all learners to keep up the hard work and determination they have demonstrated this year. This includes attending timetabled booster sessions with subject teachers, which will ensure they are fully prepared to sit their exams. Study leave will begin for Year 13 learners the following week. Parents have been emailed exam and booster session timetables.
We want to mark the end of Year 13’s time at Harrow High School with a celebratory leaver’s dinner. Details of this event have been sent out to learners and deposits need to be given to Mrs Motiwala by 1st June. We’d love to see as many of you there as possible.
