Year 8 have ended this term positively with our awards ceremony which was held on 8 February. The year group were able to celebrate individual achievements by certain learners and achievements by the whole group.
Pupils in the Year 8 undertook an e-safety assembly which went through how to be kept safe online. They were able to see what they should look out for online and how to conduct themselves when they are on the internet including ways to protect their family.

Year 9s have been working hard since start of this half-term. Curriculum teams working with learners in anticipation of making GCSE Options. Interventions have been organized for learners in need of extra support for Maths, English and Reading and more students have been attending the afternoon homework clubs.
Behaviour has been a focus for Year 9. Recent assemblies have addressed accountability, responsibility and respect, online safety and conduct as well as British Values.
Students have also welcomed Mr Kalisch-Smith as their new Head of Year! Taking over from Mr Preda, he has been managing the Year 9 Tutor team and ensuring student needs are addressed across learning and educational needs.
Ms Akhtar & Ms Tucker
As we come to the end of a half term, it has been great to see the effort Year 10 have put into their recent round of assessments: I have no doubt all their revision and practise will reflect positively in their next academic report. All classes are covering the GCSE exam content so it is imperative they continue to put in as much as effort as they can, to ensure success for the next academic term.
Outside of lessons, some of our Year 10 Army Cadets were given the opportunity to visit the National Army Museum this week, which was great in enhancing their cultural capital and understanding of wider events in our history.
Finally, please may I draw your attention to social media and online safety. Remain vigilant regarding your child's phone use to ensure they are not misusing the Internet.
Mr Goncalves & Ms Mehta
We held our Year 11 Parents’ Evening and it was a huge success! Thank you to all those who attended the evening, it was great to welcome you back to in-person evenings. We had a fantastic turn out and a very insightful evening, which helped learners and parents get on board with preparations for the upcoming exams.
Exams are fast approaching and it is imperative that everyone feels as prepared as possible - over the half-term please ensure we continue creating the good habits that will make the difference when the summer exams series comes. Please refer to the presentation used during Parents’ Evening to access tips on how to support your child during the exams.
The next half-term comes with another series of Pre-Public Examinations (mocks) - these always prove to be useful for learners as it gives them the opportunity to not only experience how their GCSE exams series will work in May and June but to understand where their weaknesses lie and what needs to be done to achieve the desired outcomes.
Some of your children have also started their college applications, more of these will take place after half term. If you have any questions regarding this please let us know.
We are looking forward to continuing this journey and would like to thank you for all the support shown throughout!
