As we approach the end of term, I would like to congratulate all of the Year 7 learners for their hard work and efforts throughout each school day. As a year group we have had a phenomenal amount of learners praised for their excellence in school.
Year 7 has achieved 8150 achievement points this term! Well done Year 7 and keep up the good work, we are all very proud of you.
This term Year 7’s Aspirational Trip was to Hackney Empire to watch the pantomime ‘Mother Goose’. Dan Leno created a poor woman who befriends a magical goose that provides her with Golden Eggs. She is rich, but there is something she wants more than money- she wants to be young and beautiful. The pantomime has a strong moral- beauty and wealth cannot bring you happiness.

The Year 8's had a superb time engaging with a range of activities during Aspirations Day. We were delighted to have Wates Group Ltd come into the school to deliver a workshop about construction. The learners were introduced to the different roles and routes that can be followed for a career in construction. The main activity was to create the tallest tower but with a budget and costs involved for the construction materials (straws, sheets of paper and sellotape). It was fascinating to see the learners discussing and planning what they were going to buy to construct their towers. It was a very enjoyable workshop and it was great to see some of the towers that the learner's worked hard to build.
They then designed structures in Art, producing drawings expressing their creativity in different ways through the subject.
Finally, in PE pupils played various different sports ranging from dodgeball, tug of war, football and basketball. The Year 8's showed their competitiveness and drive when playing against other forms. Overall learners enjoyed the day as they were able to do such diverse activities throughout the day and enjoy the whole school to themselves.

As part of our Aspirations trip this year, Ms Bowen set up for us a very anticipated visit to the Horniman Museum in South London. Despite the very cold weather, we had a lot of fun traveling by public transport to this very unusual museum.
During our visit, the museum staff were kind enough to organise a workshop where we focused on the themes of Masks and Identities. These workshops were very educational and as you can see from the pictures we had a lot of fun and got “hands on” with some of the objects of this unusual collection.
It was a great day and we all agreed that it was the perfect way to end a very productive year at Harrow High School. Our thanks go out to Ms Bowen for organising such a fun day.

Year 10 have had an intense last few weeks with revision and in class assessments across subjects; it has been great to see learners putting in so much effort and prioritising their learning. This hard work will also certainly prove invaluable for exams next year.
A huge well done to the boy's basketball team for their win against Park High School and those who have completed and achieved their Sports Leadership qualifications - it is great to see learners thriving in activities inside and outside of the classroom.
Year 10 were also able to end the term with a trip to Winter Wonderland for ice skating, a great way to get into the Christmas and holiday spirit.

What a fantastic term this has been!
The Year 11s had the opportunity to attend a lot of exciting events such as the Sixth Form Open Evening. We have also had a full series of Pre-Public Examinations over the last few weeks. We are extremely proud of how our learners have approached their exams and the attitude and maturity displayed throughout.
January comes with another set of exciting events - learners will get to experience a Mock Interview Day and complete their college applications! We can’t wait to get these started and sent off! We have also initiated the preparations for Graduation and Prom. A letter has been sent to all parents with details and ParentPay events have been created. We kindly request you complete the registration on ParentPay for the event(s) desired.
Stay safe and enjoy your holidays. We look forward to seeing you back in school for another term on 3 January 2023! We wish you a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.
Mr Charles
Our Year 12 trips this term focused on giving the learners an insight into various post-18 pathways. They visited Brunel University and had the opportunity to learn about the UCAS process and how to make a successful application, as well as taking part in a campus and accommodation tour. Year 12s also visited the Skills London Careers Fair at the Excel Centre to explore and network with a wide variety of organisations that offer apprenticeships, degrees and career pathways.
This term Year 13 have been working hard to complete their UCAS applications. Many have received offers already, some unconditional. We are excited to see the post-18 pathways that our Year 13s are set to take!
We really enjoyed inviting Year 11s into the Sixth Form last week for a taster day. They had the opportunity to partake in three taster lessons of their choice, learn about our Personal development programme, and experience a free period in our common room. We were pleased to receive lots of positive responses about the day, and would like to thank all the staff involved for their help and support.
To end the term on a high note, we took a trip to the Winter Wonderland ice skating rink. Much fun was had, although we’re not sure whether we have any future Olympic skaters in our midst…
