2024- This year's visit was unique because our visit was a GoogleMEET visit with author Dan Gemeinhart. Most of our students met him last year after reading The Remarkable Journey of Coyote Sunrise. We were all such big fans that we read the sequel, Coyote Lost & Found this year and asked Dan to visit us virtually. He met with each grade and each had 40 minutes of all Q & A.

2023-Dan Gemeinhart flew all the way from Washington State to visit us at PVS. He shared his story of becoming an author and the grit he needed to stick with his goal even when faced with many rejections. Our students had many questions about Coyote and Rodeo after reading Gemeinhart's book The Remarkable Journey of Coyote Sunrise, and he answered all of them. What a great experience for all!

2022- Author and illustrator, Victoria Jamieson visited PVS to help us celebrate her graphic novel When Stars are Scattered which she co-wrote with Omar Mohamed. Our school community learned so much about the life of refugees. She even taught us how to draw the main character from this beautiful true story.

2020- To celebrate our One School-One Book event, author Wendy Mass visited PVS on February 25, 2020! What a great day! She spoke to all of our students in an assembly, ate lunch with some of her biggest fans and signed over 200 books for our PVS students! She even took a few minutes to speak with sixth grader, Liam on his podcast episode. Listen here.

5th graders created a well out of bricks that share their "waku waku"...that which makes them feel most alive!
