All about me

Welcome to 5th Grade!!  I will be your child's homeroom teacher this year.  Additionally, I will deliver ELA instruction to your child. I am really excited to embark on this learning adventure with your child this year!

This is my 22nd year at PVS!  It is truly hard to believe that I have been a part of this community for so long.  During my tenure at PVS, I taught 4th grade for 10 years and have enjoyed working with my 5th graders for thepast 12 years.  It has been a thrill to witness the development of my students over the years.  Furthermore, I feel fortunate to have witnessed my own children progress through our outstanding school district.

When I am not teaching, I love walking my dog, listening to true crime podcasts, and watching all sports (especially soccer). Our family loves going on adventurous vacations, and to professional sporting events, especially MLB and MLS games.  My son loves playing football and basketball, and he is a sophomore at The University of Kentucky.  My daughter is entering her junior year at Clearview where she is an active member of of the school community.  She plays for the women's soccer team, as well as club soccer for PDA South.

I am originally from Monmouth County in Central Jersey, but I consider myself a South Jersey girl at this point! My husband is from Pittsburgh, so don't be surprised to see us cheering for the Steelers or Pirates.  We do love the Sixers and Union, though!

My path to teaching was not a typical one...I received my BA in Journalism from Penn State University.  After graduating, I quickly realized that I should've listened to my mother!!  I received my M.Ed. in Elementary Education from Marymount University in Arlington, VA.  I taught in Fredericksburg for a few years and then moved to Mullica Hill in 2003.  

I look forward to forming a partnership with you, as well as sharing a multitude of memorable moments with your child this year.  See you in September!
