Biography

I began my teaching career in 2000 after earning a Masters in Science of Teaching from Rowan University and a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from Rutgers University. I spent my first two years in the profession teaching seventh grade in Rockingham County, Virginia. After moving back to New Jersey in 2002, I started teaching here at Pleasant Valley School. My first three years were spent as a fifth grade math and ELA teacher. I then taught SS, math, science, and ELA to sixth graders from 2004 until spring 2019. During the 2019-2020 school year I had a new role which was a combination of two new course offerings: Cultural Literacy and ELA enrichment. Since that time, I have been a math interventionist- helping learners in all three grade levels! I am passionate about inspiring learners to be curious and independent thinkers. My goal, no matter what content is my focus, is to culture kindness and life-long learning habits in our Pleasant Valley Explorers!!
