The piece I composed for listening and performance is a string quartet composition. This piece consists of a Haydn inspired string quartet is the key of C major. An important feature of this piece is a use of borrowed chords and melody within the B section. As shown in the linked score I borrowed an Aminor in measure 9 as the start to my call and response section of my composition. In this section I also used a G scale run over the 5 chord GBD in measure 14 then inverted it on the 15th, ending the phrase on the 1 chord in measure 16. Haydn was the main inspiration for this piece specifically “OP. 33 NO. 3, IN C MAJOR (The bird)”. His use of eighth notes throughout the piece are what mainly inspired my second section as well as the choice of the C major key.  I finally downloaded the MIDI from noteflight and put it into soundtrap to mix and master the piece.

Roman Candles is a student led independant band I founded with my friend Jake the singer and rhythm guitarist. We've been in this band together since late sophomore year writing and performing songs. We play for our friends and family as well as a small talent show at a new years party. I play lead guitar, schedule and host rehearsals, assist in writing lyrics, and write all lead guitar parts.
