Students helped bury 4 pairs of cotton underwear around the school campus. This is a common practice for farmers to measure soil viability. One of our standards in the spring has us model ecosystem dynamics & interactions. In the spring, we can dig these up and see how different environments and microscopic life can play a role in decomposition. They get to start this investigation and see what happens to manufactured items in real time.
