Welcome to the school year 2020 / 2021! Best wishes to the seniors who will graduate this spring.

My planning period is 2nd period and the time associated with that is 9:20 am to 10:40 am. Many days I will be in my classroom during that time but many days I will not. For example every Tuesday the math department meets to collaborate on teaching practices so I would not be in my room then. If you wish to try to call me feel free, 910-436-1436 ext. 4211 however, email is a superior way to get ahold of me.

The students will be able to access their assignments via the Google Classroom and this will have one to one relationship with the assignments in PowerSchool. If there is an assignment due 8/28/2020 in PowerSchool Called Check for Understanding 1.1 there will be an assignment in the Google Classroom Called Check for Understanding 1.1 where the student can find the instructions and the link to the assignment.

I know that Pre-calculus and Calculus are rigorous classes and you may be concerned about how it is even possible to teach them in a remote setting but we will all learn and develop the best methods as we go. Parent and student input and feedback will be very important during this process so I want to encourage you to email me with questions and concerns. I am not providing my email as a requirement but I genuinely want you to use it.

I think Honors Math 2 is a very exciting class and I love to work with these students. It is very important to me to establish a strong mathematical base of knowledge at this level because these students are frequently continuing to calculus at some point.
