Class Overview:

• Students will study people, places, and societies of the contemporary world.

• Students will continue to build a foundation in history; geography; economics; government; citizenship; culture; science, technology, and society; and social studies skills.

•  Lesson Calendar will be posted on Harmony Jr. High Website.

Students will need to bring to class everyday:

• Chromebook

• Spiral Notebook (Will be left in classroom)

• Blue or Black, and Red pens.

• Pencils

• Paper

When the student enters the classroom:

• Must be in assigned seat (not walking around visiting)

• Class agenda/objectives for the day will be on the board.

• Get supplies ready.

• Get started on Daily Warm Up Activity

Tardy:

• Student is tardy if he/she is not in the room when the bell rings.

• If a student was with another teacher or in the office, they will not receive a tardy.

Absences:

• Students will need to have an absentee slip when they return to class (get them in the office before school starts).

• Students will have one day for each day absent to complete makeup work.

Grading:

• 50% Daily (minimum 15 grades)

• 45% Test (minimum 3 grades)

• 5% Quarter and Semester Exams (Oct 9, Dec 17, Mar 11, and May 14)

Tests:

• There will be Unit Tests

• There will be Quizlets and Booklets created for help with studying for tests.

• DMAC will be used for Unit Tests

• Notes Test (Students will use their spiral notebooks to complete these tests)

Assigned Seats:

• All students will be assigned seats on the first day of school.

• If a student has trouble viewing the board or screens, I will allow the student to move to another seat that will allow the student to be able to view easily.

• Assigned seats will also change if there are disruptions.

Late Work Policy:

• All assignments will be due the Friday the week they were assigned unless specifically requested to be turned in the next day.

• 70 is the highest grade on all late assignments turned in 

• 3 Days Late = 0 earned

Restroom Procedures:

• No more than one person at a time may go to the restroom

• Try to go to the restroom between classes
