Why am I running to continue as Commissioner?
We all live in North Idaho because we love the 4 seasons, access to outdoor recreation and living as a part a vibrant community.
We need good roads to be able to access all that Kootenai County has to offer and I have a passion for roads!
I also have 25 years experience in engineering and management and I have owned a growing business in Kootenai County for 14 years.
With my experience both as an engineer and as a business owner, I bring a unique skill set that benefits the district and it's operations.
I believe the job of the commissioner is to ensure the residents of the district are getting the best service possible while keeping tax burden low. This is done through:
- transparent, public goal setting
- meticulous financial oversight
- clear and concise decision making
- working at the pace of business, not government

- Transportation Plan: Implemented a plan to help guide Capital expenses for the district based on public input and technical parameters. http://www.eastsidehighwaydistrict.com/transportation-plan_update.html
- Road Stabilization Program: Initiated dust control program for the busiest of our gravel roads
- Coeur d Alene Lake Dr: Negotiated the transfer of CdA Lake Dr. to the ESHD for $2,700,000. These funds have allowed the district to purchase new equipment and add to our crew. https://cdapress.com/local_news/20190315/cda_lake_drive_scheduled_for_repaving_this_summer_
- Asphalt Zipper: Directed the purchase of equipment to rehab the worst of our paved roads using existing materials to reduce cost
- External funding: Secured almost $5,000,000 in outside funds for infrastructure improvements to reduce burden on district tax payers

- Continue to seek out grants to make needed improvements to our crumbling roads and bridges
- Expand the road stabilization/dust control program to reduce annual maintenance costs and the dust nuisance from our roads
- Modernize district operations to improve efficiency through technology where possible
- Ensure that development pays for itself. The additional burden of new homes and business in the district shouldn't be carried by the existing residents of the district

What is Eastside Highway District?
The ESHD maintains the roads and bridges for south-east Kootenai County from Coeur d'Alene to Harrison and Cataldo. If you live south of Locust and east of 7th you are a voting resident in the district. This includes the CdA neighborhoods of Sanders Beach, Garden District, East Sherman, Fernan Village, Potlatch and Syringa Heights.
