Harmony Project is excited to offer special workshops again this Spring! Please take a moment to read the important details below:
The deadline to register is Sunday, February 20th by end of day.
The workshops run for 8 weeks in March & April. Please see this calendar for dates for each workshop.
Please note that workshop sign-ups are on a first-come-first-served basis, and some workshops have a capacity limit. If your first choice workshop is full, you may be assigned to your second choice.
Before signing up, please read the descriptions of each workshop below.

Have you ever wanted to write your own songs? This beginning-level workshop gives students the opportunity to learn about the process of songwriting and collaborate with each other to create their own unique compositions.
¿Has querido alguna vez escribir tus propias canciones? Este taller de nivel principiante oferce a los estudiantes la oportunidad para aprender el proceso de escribir canciones y colaborar entre ellos para crear sus propias composiciones únicas.
Requirements // Requerimientos: students must have AT LEAST ONE year's worth of experience on their instrument. // Los estudiantes necesitan POR LO MENOS un año de experiencia con su instrumento.

Grow your love of music with Music and Me! In this music and wellness workshop, we will not only learn new music and develop musicianship skills through singing and playing instruments, but we will also learn how to practice mindfulness and use music as a form of self-expression.

En este taller de música y bienestar, no sólo vas a conocer música nueva y desarrollar tus habilidades a través del canto y tocando instrumentos, si no que también vas a aprender a practicar la cultivación de la atención y a utilizar la música como forma de autoexpresión.

Bring your dancing shoes and join this workshop to move your bodies to the rhythm of salsa! While actively learning the dance steps, students will gain an understanding of the role of music in salsa.

In this workshop, students will be transported across the globe to Bali, Indonesia, and have a glimpse into the music, dance, culture, and history of this Southeast Asian island. Students will have the opportunity to participate actively as they learn movements and rhythms of Bali.
A través de este taller, vamos a viajar hacia el otro lado del mundo a Bali, Indonesia, para entrever la música, baile, cultura, y historia de esta isla en sudeste Asia. Estudiantes tendrán la oportunidad de participar de manera activa mientras que aprenden los movimientos y ritmos de Bali.

This fun new workshop teaches the history of the music and culture we love - Hip Hop. We'll discuss the forefathers like DJ Kool Herc and Grandmaster Flash, along with some of the early community issues that shaped Hip Hop culture. Students will also learn about music created by influential Hip Hop artists like Run DMC, Rakim, N.W.A., to name a few.
Este taller enseña la historia de la música y cultura que nos encanta - el Hip Hop. Conversaremos sobre los antepasados como DJ Kool Herc y Grandmaster Flash, junto a algunos de los temas comunitarios que formaron parte de la cultura del Hip Hop. Los estudiantes también aprenderán sobre la música creada por artistas importantes del Hip Hop, como Run DMC, Rakim, N.W.A., para nombrar algunos.

Live Stems serves as a band name or moniker, while A Hip Hop Joint is specific to the kind of music we’ll cover as a group. Stems refers to the separate tracks used in music production that create a whole musical piece. Many of our lessons will focus on the separation of stems, and bringing them together in layers.
Live Stems sirve como nombre de la banda, mientras que A Hip Hop Joint se refiere al tipo de música que cubriremos como grupo. Are you interested in composing and producing music for TV shows and movies? This workshop will cover the basics of producing music in Soundtrap, and will guide you through the process of storytelling with music, using loops, recorded audio, virtual drum machines, effects, and more. Students will create their own film scores and leave with the skills and resources to continue learning about music production and making their own music.
¿Estás interesado/a en componer y producir música para programas de televisión y películas? Este taller cubre los básicos de producir música en Soundtrap, y te guiará a través del proceso de la narración con música, usando bucles, audio grabado, máquinas de tambores virtuales, efectos, y más. Los estudiantes crearán sus propias partituras y terminarán el curso con las habilidades y los recursos para continuar aprendiendo sobre la producción de música y componer su propia música.

Arranging is the art of reconfiguring a piece of music, whether by changing its instrumentation, harmony, or using the original material in a different way. In this workshop, you can choose any piece of music to rearrange. Building on your existing music theory knowledge, you'll learn how to arrange for different instruments, or change instrumentation for a larger or smaller ensemble.
El arreglo de música es el arte de reconfigurar una pieza de música, sea a través de su instrumentación, armonía, o usando la materia original en una manera diferente. En este taller, puedes elegir una pieza de música para arreglar. Desarrollando sobre tu conocimiento de teoría de música, aprenderás a arreglar para diferentes instrumentos, o cambiar la instrumentación para un conjunto más grande o pequeño.
