We will be working with between 3 and 9 volts of electricity. When used properly and directions are followed, this is very safe. Generally 3-9v of electricity is not enough to cause permanent bodily harm, but it is enough to cause overheated wires if a short circuit is accidentally caused. Minor 1st or even 2nd degree burns can result if overheated metal is touched (like a blister). It could also cause melted plastic insulation or casings, and even catch fire to any combustible materials nearby (all rare occurrences) but nevertheless, something you need to be aware of.
If, even after taking all precautions, you accidentally get a burn, follow these steps:
Set down whatever you have in your hand in a safe way
WALK, don’t run to the bathroom
Run cool water over the burned area
DO NOT attempt to take the glue off, it will rip off your burned skin with it
They do not recommend bursting blisters, once the underlayer of skin is exposed, it stings. Like really, really, REALLY bad.
Depending on how many layers of skin you burned, it may hurt for several days, even a week.
So, BE SAFE!
