Frequently Asked Questions

If you have not created an account before, please fill out the Skyward Family Access Request Form.  If you cannot remember your password, visit Skyward Family Access and select "Forgot your Login/Password."  You must use the email address that is on file in Skyward.

If you are new to the District, please contact the Parent Resource Secretary at 815-654-4500 to schedule an appointment to register your student(s).  Families will complete the process online during the in-person appointment.  The Parent Resource Secretary is located at the Harlem Administration Center (8605 N. 2nd St., Machesney Park, IL)

For returning students, parents or guardians listed as Family 1 in Skyward are able to complete the online registration.  Family 1 will not be able to see or edit Family 2 information.  Family 2 must log into Skyward to make edits to their personal information. 

After logging into Skyward, you will see an option to add a new student.  You will complete the registration process for your returning and new students online.  Please note that adding a new student is a two-part process.

7:30-E Exhibit - In-District Transfer Request 

The Harlem School District provides parents with an opportunity for their children to attend an alternate school other than their neighborhood school under certain circumstances, providing there is sufficient space in another Harlem elementary school. 

Transfers will only be considered if the child being transferred has a sibling currently attending the requested/receiving school. 

Transfers considered will only be approved IF: 

• Building and class enrollments can be maintained at an acceptable level. 

• Applicants follow proper procedures, student registration is complete, and the request is made by May 31st, or by the child’s first attendance day, if the child is transferring into the district during the school year. 

• Parents provide all transportation. 

• The conduct, attendance and progress of student must be acceptable at receiving school or transfer may be revoked at any time. 

Returning students must be registered by May 31st in order to guarantee placement in their home school.
