Black Market Pharma Trafficking
Government regulation of healthcare prices can improve affordability and access, but it can also reshape black market activity and the availabilty of counterfeit drugs. Delegates will grapple with competing priorities surrounding drug pricing, manufacturing costs, substance abuse, and international involvement in healthcare markets.

Addressing Climate Induced Migration
As climate change causes rising sea levels, prolonged droughts, and increasingly severe natural disasters, millions across the globe are being forced to leave their homes without clear legal protection or international support. In this committee, delegates will explore climate policy, migration, and human rights while debating the responsibilities of nations to protect displaced populations and address the unequal impacts of climate change.
Ushnish Chatterjee

Ushnish is a sophomore at The Harker School. He began Model UN in 9th grade. His favorite committee by far is the ITU because of its relevance in the age of rapidly-changing tech in workplaces. In his free time, he enjoys singing in different languages, posting videos on his Youtube channel, and planning class events on student council.

Hello, I'm Akhil Gundala and I'm a junior at BASIS Independent Silicon Valley. I'm a STEM student who is interested in biology and also does Model United Nations. MUN has been a really fun and interesting experience for me, because I've met and worked with so many people, and I'm really excited and grateful to be able to chair PANMUN.
Strengthening International Cooperation for Pandemic Preparedness and Global Health Security
As infectious diseases continue to pose threats across borders, gaps in global preparedness leave underprivileged regions especially vulnerable to outbreaks. Delegates will explore international cooperation on disease surveillance, resource distribution, health infrastructure, and early intervention to prevent local outbreaks from developing into global pandemics.

Aneesh is a senior at BASIS and is in his sixth year of MUN. He chaired in PANMUN last year as a delegate and is excited to be chairing for a second time at PANMUN. He looks forward to delegates’ detailed, nuanced debate in a novel committee context. Outside of MUN, Aneesh enjoys playing video games and traveling.

Addressing Modern Slavery and Human Trafficking
This Social, Humanitarian, and Cultural Committee (SOCHUM) session will come together to address one of the most urgent international human rights crises of our time, modern slavery and human trafficking. This appears in networks of forced labor, sexual exploitation, child trafficking, and the abuse of migrants. Delegates will have to discuss and research victim support, supply chains, forced labor, border control, and organized crime.

My name is Josh and I’m a student here at Harker. I’ve been doing MUN for 5 years now, attending conferences like MITMUNC and CMUNCE, among dozens of others. This is my 2nd year attending this conference, and my first year chairing a committee for PANMUN.

I am Nathan Brouchoud, a student at Woodside Priory High School and am excited to be a chair at PanMUN! I enjoy MUN for the opportunity to debate and discuss complex issues, hear new and differing perspectives, and work toward shared solutions. Outside of MUN, I’m extremely interested in engineering and things that require hands-on problem solving.
Mexican Embassy Hostage Crisis
When members of the American embassy to Mexico are taken hostage, four groups must navigate a rapidly evolving national crisis: the US government, Mexican government, news media, and a private military contractor. With each faction pursuing its own interests, delegates must race to secure the hostages before time runs out.
Historical Crisis: Dissolution of the USSR
In June 1991, the USSR remained a nation, but was showing hints of full collapse. A few republics, such as the Baltics, had already left the Union, but there was hope: many sought a reformed but still united USSR, as seen through a March 1991 referendum. Should the nation be kept conservative and united, or be completely dissolved? What specific reforms will be made to keep it united? Why should the nation disassemble instead? The fate of the world superpower at the end of the day is within the delegates’ hands.

Hello delegates, my name is Yash Karlekar, and I am excited to be one of your committee chairs for the Dissolution of the USSR Crisis committee! In my spare time, I particularly love to play the piano, watch YouTube videos (especially about history), and play cricket. I also love to debate stuff like games, whether board or video games, with my friends for fun.

Hello! I'm Leina, a junior at Mission San Jose High School in Fremont. I've been participating in MUN for a year now, and this is my first time chairing. I'm sure I'll have much to learn, and look forward to making this crisis committee a success together!
Historical Crisis: Yalta Conference
As World War II draws to a close, the Allied powers face the challenge of deciding what the postwar world will look like. Delegates will represent leaders, diplomats, and officials from the major powers as they negotiate the future of Germany, reparations, political influence in Europe, war crimes, and the creation of a new international order. With tensions already emerging between the Western Allies and the Soviet Union, every decision could reshape Europe and alter the course of the coming Cold War.

Amy is a senior at the Harker School. Aside from MUN, she spends time reading, doing cheerleading, enjoying good food, and sailing. In her most natural habitat, you can find her reading romantasy books and/or eating snacks.

Vivaan is a junior at the Harker School and has done MUN for over 6 years. He enjoys reading, gaming, watching movies, and occasionally hiking. He also plays the drums but isn’t very good at it.
