Deep Hope

It is my deep hope that you will see beauty in the way we are all uniquely created in the image of God, and that, as a reflection of his love, you will seek to build bridges to others.

ABOUT ME

I began my teaching career at Harding Academy’s Upper School in 1992 and I currently teach Spanish Exploration 6th grade, Honors Spanish 3 and Spanish 4/5 Dual Enrollment along with my Lower School friends in grades 1-5.  I graduated from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign with my bachelor’s degree in the Teaching of Spanish. I also completed an MA degree in Romance Languages at the University of Memphis.  I have been blessed to experience the culture of several Spanish-speaking countries via homestays, mission trips, and travel in the Dominican Republic, Puerto Rico, Ecuador, Mexico, and Spain as well as connecting with the Hispanic community right here in Memphis.  My husband, Eric, is a Spanish professor and we have two sons, a daughter and gained a daughter-in-law in 2021 when our elder son got married.  Late in July we welcomed a granddaughter to our crew.  Abuela Henager is loving  her new family role!
