Vine Grove Elementary School

On Thursday, November 13, 2025, VGE went on a school wide field trip to see Elf the Musical at the PAC. We think it was an enjoyable musical and all ages would enjoy this show! The musical was about how Buddy the Elf knew he didn't belong at the North Pole, so he went to New York City to find his father. In the end, he got a girlfriend and fixed the Christmas spirit.
We hope that everyone really enjoyed the show!
This month, the family book club will be having a coloring contest. Stop by the library and pick out your favorite One and Only Ivan picture to color. The choices will be right inside the library door. Return your coloring sheet to the box in the library by Wednesday, December 17. The winners will be announced on Friday, December 19!

Let’s get talking about Mrs.Robinson.
Mrs Robinson's favorite subjects are Reading and History. She loves to do so many different things outside of school but she said, "Reading many books and spending time with family are the best." She is thankful for so many things, and she said, "I am thankful for family and God and so much more." Lastly I asked Mrs. Robinson what her favorite book is since she loves reading, and she responded with, "I love the book Pride and Prejudice."

Mrs.Thoma is the new librarian for Vine Grove Elementary. Mrs.Thoma is a librarian because she loves books and enjoys helping kids find books that they will love in the future. Mrs.Thoma favors the Harry Potter series. Mrs.Thoma loves to be a librarian at VGE. She plans to bring back the makers space, book challenges, and AR prizes. Mrs.Thoma became a librarian by going to WKU, and she is also currently attending classes at Murray State University. These are some amazing facts about our new librarian, Mrs. Thoma.
The boys basketball team is one of many teams at Vine Grove Elementary School. We will be playing Meadowview at the AUX gym in North Hardin High School on December 7th, 2025 at 1pm. The players on the team are Duke Cecil, Cannon Shive, Lukas Evans, Jeremiah Burnett, Ethan Pineda Quidachay, Jaxin Tuggle, Vincent Franco, Matthias Robinson, and last but not least Zaylon Graves. They are proud to represent the Trojans for our school. The last person I would like to recognize is Coach Burnett. Coach Burnett is the coach of the boys basketball team and is coaching and training us to be able to reach the top and win the championship.

Do you ever wonder how to get Free Sit Friday? If your classmates are yelling on top of their lungs and you never get to sit where ever you want, now you can follow these 3 rules to earn Free Sit Friday!!!! Rule number one in the lunch room is to be at a low voice. Rule number two, if the teacher wants you to lower your voices, it does not mean you got in trouble. It just means to lower your voices. It is not that hard. Last rule: Do not yell on top of your lungs just to be cool. That will make it worse. Now I know you guys have questions like "What if we are way too loud on Free Sit Friday?" Well, you go back to your assigned table. These are the rules for Free Sit Friday. I hope you guys earn it soon!
Vine Grove students participated in our annual food drive to help our community for Thanksgiving. Our students collected 800 boxes of mac and cheese, instant potatoes, cake mix, and brownie mix! These items will help over 50 families in our community have a holiday meal for Thanksgiving. A huge thank you to all who participated!
