My name is Jenni Scott. This is my fifth year at Hardin-Central, 12 years in school counseling, and starting my 16th year in education. I graduated from Carrollton High School, received my bachelor's degree in Psychology from the University of Missouri-Columbia, and obtained my masters in School Counseling from the University of Central Missouri. I received my LPC, Licensed Professional Counselor, certificate in 2014. I currently live in Carrollton, MO with my husband, Darrin, and two children, Izer, 12 years old, and Acelynn, 9 years old. Some of my favorite things to do are exercising, hanging out with my family, being outdoors, gardening, being involved in sports through coaching at schools and also coaching my children's sports events.
Many people ask what a school counselor does. In a K-12 school, I have the privilege of wearing many hats and being involved within the school in a multitude of ways. I deliver curriculum systemically through classroom lessons in cooperation with the teachers; help students plan for their futures through scheduling and post-secondary choices; help students evaluate their interests, abilities, and skills; provide individual counseling, group counseling, and crisis response services; communicate with parents and all stakeholders to share effective strategies that support all students; communicate with community members to support student success. I am also the A+ Coordinator here at school.
I look forward to continuing working with the Hardin-Central staff, students, parents and community! GO BULLDOGS!!
