NAHS 6x6 Collaborative

What is the NAHS 6x6 Collaborative?

Welcome to our NAHS 6x6 Collaborative Art Installation website. The NAHS 6x6 is a dynamic project that bridges Long Island students and teachers through the fine arts. Launched in 2014 by co-founders Rosemarie Elder of POBJFK and Jeanie Ritter of Harborfields, this initiative inspires students from the National Art Honor Society to Connect, Collaborate, and Create. The Heckscher Museum of Art was a pivotal partner from the beginning, providing students with artistic enrichment, inspiration for their creations, and a venue to showcase their annual 6x6 art projects.

In 2015, the project expanded with Allyson Uttendorfer and students from HHH HSEast joining the collaboration and the project has continually evolved and grown.

Celebrating its 10th anniversary in 2024, the project has grown to include 11 participating schools. This milestone event featured student awards and gifts provided by generous donations (BLICK) and grants (Jovia) and even expanded to an additional venue, The Firefly Artists Gallery in Northport, NY.

We are excited to see this collaborative effort continue to thrive and are deeply thankful for the unwavering support of our community. Join us as we look forward to fostering more creativity and connections in the arts!
