For Our Children, For Our Schools, For Our Community.
~Dr. Jeanette Wojcik for Harborfields Board of Education~
I am honored to announce my candidacy for the Harborfields Board of Education. As a dedicated educator and proud community member, I am committed to serving the community to ensure the best possible education for all of our children.
My family and I have lived in the Harborfields community for over 20 years, and our three children attend Harborfields schools - two at OMS and one at TJL. With over 23 years in education, I have served as a classroom teacher, reading specialist, and administrator. My extensive experience has equipped me with a deep understanding of education, a strong commitment to promoting student well-being, and the importance of fostering strong partnerships within the school community.
I believe in community and the power of working together to support our children and schools. I currently serve as Co-President of Harborfields SEPTA and am actively involved in our schools, including the Harborfields Anti-Bias Advisory Committee and the Harborfields PTAs. I am also a member of the Harborfields Booster Club, the Greenlawn Civic Association, and I serve as a fifth and sixth grade catechist at Our Lady Queen of Martyrs. These roles reflect my deep commitment to the Harborfields community.
As a Board of Education trustee, I will focus on the following key priorities to support our school district and the success of all students:
Supporting the Whole Child
I will advocate for high quality and engaging educational, athletic, and extracurricular programs that meet the diverse needs of our children. Drawing from my experience in education, I will support policies and initiatives that elevate learning in all content areas and promote differentiated instruction. I also recognize the vital role that athletics and extracurricular activities play in student growth, and I will advocate for programs that encourage teamwork, leadership, and a strong sense of belonging beyond the classroom. Expanding opportunities for academic, athletic, and extracurricular programs will be essential to ensuring every child achieves their fullest potential.
Promoting Student Well-being
Our children’s well-being is paramount. I will work to support the district in expanding social-emotional wellness resources within our schools. This will ensure that our children continue to have access to counseling, social-emotional learning programs, and other opportunities that promote authentic relationships and emotional resilience. As HF SEPTA Co-President, I understand the importance of fostering an inclusive environment where every child feels valued and connected, with a strong sense of belonging.
Fiscal Responsibility and Transparency
Harborfields has consistently demonstrated careful and effective financial management, and I am committed to building on that foundation. With rising costs and budget constraints, I will support the district with responsible financial planning that prioritizes exceptional educational, athletic, and extracurricular opportunities, as well as facility improvements - especially those completed in our upcoming bond projects. I believe in transparent communication with the community about budget decisions and will work to ensure taxpayer dollars are used efficiently and effectively.
Community Engagement and Collaboration
Our district thrives because families, educators, and community members work together. Through my involvement with HF SEPTA, the Harborfields Anti-Bias Advisory Committee, and other local organizations, I have built strong relationships throughout the district by listening and supporting. I will continue to foster meaningful dialogue within our community to ensure all voices are heard and represented.
I bring both professional expertise and a deep personal investment in the success of our district. As a parent, an educator, and an active community member, I am dedicated to advancing the mission of Harborfields:
Each Child. Each Day. One Harborfields Family.
