On May 8, 2025, Professors Ick Soo Kim and Ji Ha Lee of Shinshu University, Japan visited and gave a department seminar. The lecture titles were " The Purpose of Shinshu University," and "Development of Sustainable Gell Materials using Self-Assembly Techniques."

On June 12, 2025, Professors Tatsuki Abe and Keiji Tanaka of Kyushu University, Japan visited and gave a department seminar. The lecture title was "Interfacial Characterization of Polymers using Sum-Frequency Generation Spectroscopy " 

DEPARMENT SEMINARS, 2024 FALL

On Oct. 31, 2024, Professor Chi Wu of Shenzhen University and Professor Atsushi Takahara of Kyushu University visited and gave a department seminar. The lecture titles are "What is Pressure? and Therefrom ..." and "Surface Degradation of Polymeric Solids and Microplastic Issues," respectively.

Drs. Ngo Trinh Tung and Thai Hoang from Vietnam Academy of Science and Technology (VAST), Hanoi, Vietnam on April 2, professor Bolormaa Oyuntsetseg  from the National University of Mongolia, Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia, on April 11, and professor Yuji Higaki from Oita University, Japan on May 9, 2024 visited and gave seminars.

ANNUAL MEETINGS OF PSK & KCS

PSK (Polymer Society of Korea) Fall Meeting was held on Oct. 11-14, 2023 at ICC, Jeju Island, and KCS (Korean Chemical Society) was held on Oct. 25-27, 2023 at Gwangju Kim Daejung Convention Center. 

SPECIAL SEMINARS

On Oct. 10, 2023, professors Rusli Daik and Hook-Wai Phang from Malaysia and Dr. Anna Sokolova from ANSTO, Australia, visited and gave a special lecture. 

2023 HY POLYMER GROUP WORKSHOP

On July 14, 2023, five professors majoring in polymer at Hanyang University were invited to hold a workshop. Prof. Jeong Jae Wie from Org&NanoE, prof. Jaeyoung Jang from EnergyE, prof. Bongjun Yeom from ChemE, prof. Hyosung Choi and prof. Hongseok Yun from Chemistry made the presentation. 

2023 RICBS WORKSHOP

The RICBS workshop was held on May 20 (Sat.), 2023. Five speakers, Joohuei Shin (Amorepacific), Jeongwook Lee (Daewon Pharmaceutical), Jungyoon Yang (Samsung SDI), Sung Jin Park (ONEGENE), Jinwoo Choi (Daewoong Pharmaceutical), presented recent research trends in companies.

Dr. Phan Trung Nghia (HUST) and prof. Van-Duong Dao (Phenikaa Univ.) visited and gave special seminars on April 4, 2023. And prof. Kohzo Ito (Univ. Tokyo) and prof. Keiji Tanaka (Kyushu Univ.) visited and gave special seminars on April 8, 2023.  

DEPARTMENT SEMINARS

Department seminar, Prof Daisuke Kawaguchi from the Department of Applied Chemistry, Kyushu University, entitled, "Effects of Interfacial Structure and Physical Properties on Functions in Polymer Thin Films," was held on March 9. Prof. Kwang-Un Jeong from Jeonbuk National University also gave a seminar, entitled "Advanced Liquid Crystal Polymer Networks from Programed Anisotropic Reaction Mesogens, on March 16, 2023.

COMGRATULATES ON GRADUATION!

Ms. Hye Yeon Cho and Ms. Younhee Jeong finished their master's degrees and graduated on Feb. 17, 2023.  Congratulations!!

AsiaNANO 2022 Conference were in BEXCO, Busan on Nov 9 - Nov 11. Mr. N.Q. Nguyen and Mr. A. Patil present posters. 

DR. NADIIA VELYCHKIVSKA, NIMS, JAPAN

Dr. Velychkivska from NIMS, Tsukuba, Japan, visited and gave a talk on Oct. 28, 2022. The title of the talk was "Spectroscopic investigation of stimuli-responsive polymer/porphyrin system."

PSK & KCS FALL MEETING IN 2022

PSK & KCS fall meetings were in Daegu EXCO and Gyeongju HICO on October 5-7 and October 19-21, 2022, respectively. Prof. Sohn hosts the Plenary lecture of Rong-Ming Ho in PSK and graduate students present posters in PSK & KCS.  

THE 25TH ANNIVERSARY OF PPCL & Academia-Industry Cooperation Workshop 2022

The 25th Anniversary of PPCL and Academia-Industry Cooperation Workshop was held in the Natural Science Building B115 on May 14th, 2022. Speakers were from  LG Energy Solution, Henkel, KITECH, Kolon Ind., and Samsung. 

PSK & KCS SPRING MEETING IN 2022

PSK & KCS spring meetings were in Daejeon and Jeju on April 6-8 and April 13-15, respectively. Prof. Sohn presents a plenary lecture in PSK, and Dr. Ryu and graduate students present posters in PSK & KCS. 

PSK WINTER WORKSHOP IN 2022

The PSK winter workshop was held in Konjiam resort on Jan. 10-11, 2022.  The group members had a retreat after attending the workshop. 

A FAREWELL PARTY FOR THE STUDENTS FROM MINERVA SCHOOL

Ms. Ivanna and Mr. Finley from Minerva School at KGI had an internship in our laboratory for a semester in 2021.  There was a farewell party on the campus after the internship program. 

KCS & PSK FALL MEETING IN 2021

The KCS and PSK national fall meetings were held in Busan and Gyeongju on Oct. 13-15 and Oct. 20-22, 2021. In the pandemic situation, graduate students present posters at the conference. 

FAREWELL DR. QUYEN AND ...

A farewell party was held for Dr. Quyen, Ms. Jeewon Jeong, (Aug. 30), and Mr. Taehyung Noh (July 20).  Dr. Quyen will be working for KIST-Jeonbuk, and Mr. Noh will be working for Hanwha-QCells.
