Señora Gibbs
¡Hola, familias! My name is Kim Gibbs, and I have been working in the Hanover Township Public School District for 8 years. I work with all students in grades K-5 at Salem Drive School, Mountview Road School and Bee Meadow School. My mission is to inspire a love of language and learning about other cultures through songs, games and fun interactive activities. I draw on my experiences traveling and studying abroad to help bring the language to life for my students.
Lessons are designed with the following concepts in mind:
Communication
Cultures
Connections

There are so many fun, easy ways you can encourage your child's exploration of other languages and cultures. Here are a few examples:
Prepare and enjoy foods from around the world as a family or visit an ethnic restaurant and try new foods together.
Watch shows/movies that feature diverse characters and locations.
Incorporate Spanish in normal conversation (think "Hola" instead of "Hello", "Gracias" in place of "Thank you", etc.)
Look for Spanish all around you; you might be surprised how many common household items feature bilingual labels!
Encourage your child to share what he/she is learning in World Language class; let him/her be the teacher!
