Summer Offerings
Salvadori Summer 2024 Grades 7-9
Career Development- Hanover Area Jr/Sr High School
In this program, Salvadori students will engage in (3) Salvadori curricula that will allow them to learn math, science, and design concepts while building, testing, and designing different structures. Students will build their own skyscrapers, create a skatepark, and design different bridges. They will then use this knowledge to work as a team to solve a real-world problem that is affecting their community.
Throughout the course of the program, students will visit architecture, engineering, design, and construction firms to learn more about these careers from professionals. They will get to tour their offices, see projects they are working on, and learn how they can be successful in these careers. (max 25 students)
Week 1: July 8- July 12 [9am-12pm]
Week 2: July 15-July 19 [9am-12pm]
Week 3: July 22-July 26 [9am-12pm]
Week 4: July 29-August 2 [9am-12pm]
Week 5: August 5-August 9 [ 9am-12pm]
Week 6: August 12-August 18 [ 9am-12pm]
Transportation is not provided. Students must be current 7-9th grade students in the Hanover Area School District. Applications will be accepted until May 31, 2024 or until program is full. Acceptance letters will be sent in June 2024.
The course is comprehensive and includes weekly field trips as described above. Transportation is provided for field trips. Regular and consistent attendance is required.
Career Development Grades 7-9 Registration
Salvadori Summer 2024 Grades 1-2
Animal Habitats
In this program, Salvadori students will learn about different animals and their homes. They will learn how animals build their homes and the features of the different biomes that animals call home. As a class, they will build animals and habitats and put them together creating a class zoo. Class size is limited to 25 students. The program is at no cost to families through ESSER funding. Transportation is not provided.
This program will take place at the Hanover Green Elementary School as follows:
July 8- July 12 1pm-3pm
Transportation is not provided. Students must be current 1sr-2nd grade students in the Hanover Area School District. Applications will be accepted until May 31, 2024 or until program is full. Acceptance letters will be sent in June 2024.
Regular and consistent attendance is required.
Salvadori Summer 2024 Grades 3-4
My Community
In this program, Salvadori students will learn about the different buildings in their community. They will learn how shapes make up buildings, learn how facades help us determine what is happening in buildings, and learn about different building structures. Students will work together to create their ideal 3D community.
Class size is limited to 25 students. The program is at no cost to families through ESSER funding. Transportation is not provided.
This program will take place at the Lee Park Elementary School as follows:
July 15- July 19 1pm-3pm
Transportation is not provided. Students must be current 3rd-4th grade students in the Hanover Area School District. Applications will be accepted until May 31, 2024 or until program is full. Acceptance letters will be sent in June 2024.
Salvadori Summer 2024 Grades 4-5
Skyscrapers
In this program, Salvadori students will learn what makes a skyscraper stand up. They will test out structural members of a skyscraper, learn about their load bearing capabilities and then use this knowledge to create a structural grid to solve a design challenge.
Class size is limited to 25 students. The program is at no cost to families through ESSER funding. Transportation is not provided.

Skateparks
In this program, Salvadori students will learn about ramps, friction, and different materials and how they interact to create a skatepark. Students will explore force and layout to discover the best possible way to design a skatepark for maximum convenience.
Class size is limited to 25 students. The program is at no cost to families through ESSER funding. Transportation is not provided.
