TRANSLATION
The descendants of Tahupötiki
Rise up! Rise up!
This is the ruru (morepork) who calls
Whose head does not bow
From side to side, up and down
The head of the ruru is steadfast on it’s shoulders
As it calls us
From the darkness
And into the world of light
To a dawn of new understanding
