In the mornings, please send me a quick email if you have a concern, question, or something you are wanting me to know about your child.
To streamline reporting and accountability, HCS teachers in grades K-4 will be implementing behavior notice emails to keep parents informed. Behavior notices will be emailed when a student chooses to be defiant at school, physically harms another student or teacher, is unkind to others, displays improper behavior, or uses inappropriate language. The notice is not limited to these behaviors, however. The first behavior notice serves to let you know what happened at school and that the classroom teacher addressed it with the student. The second behavior notification will explain what happened at school and that an administrator spoke with the student about their behavior choices. If a 3rd email needs to be sent, a conference will be scheduled with the parents, classroom teacher, and an administrator to address the recurring behavior issues. If your student receives a behavior notification, please do not contact the teacher but discuss it with your student first. If you have questions about this new policy, please reach out to Mrs. Schmidt.
OPPORTUNITY TO SERVE OUR COMMUNITY:
THIS IS OUR HCS Easter Service project, and we will be collecting money to donate to World Renew!
“World Renew partners with local churches and organizations around the world to bring holistic programs that transform communities in every area of need. Our goal is systemic, generational change in five key areas: Peace and Justice, Community Health, Food Security, Economic Opportunity and Disaster Response.” From the About Us section of the World Renew website.
How to participate? As a family, discuss what your goal is for donation. Encouage your children to participat in giving of thier own money. Provide ways for them to earn money and talk about tithing and serving the Lord. Have them look for change around the house to donate. If you, as parents, would like to make a donation, also include your child in the discussion of what you will be donating and why. Teachers will be sharing this project information on Monday and over the next three weeks. Donations: Cash or check made payable to HCS - you can get a donation reciept from the office, and they will be accepted starting Tuesday until March 22. You may send them in a bag or envelope that is clearly marked "World Renew Donation" with your child to give to their teacher. The classroom teachers will be keeping track of donations and assisting the students in picking out what the class would like to purchase from the gift catolog. At the Easter Chapel, each grade level will present what they purchased.
Hanford Christian is partnering with World Renew to provide communities with gifts of hope, whether that is a barnyard animal, handwashing station, seeds to plant, or books for education. There are many items from the gift catalog that can be “purchased” to provide hope, healing and change to communities that World Renew works in. Students/families will donate money, and the class decides how they will spend it to provide donations.
Dress Code Reminder:
As the weather gets warmer, please be mindful of the dress code: Dresses and tops must have sleeves, capped or full, Spandex and tight legwear may be worn only if the top/shirt covers the buttocks of the student. Hemlines on dresses, skirts, and shorts must measure no higher than 4 inches above the kneecap. For safety reasons, all shoes must be closed-toe and at least one strap on the back.
