We look forward to learning outside of the classroom next week as we will be going on our first field of the year! Both 3rd grade classes will be going to the Pena Planetarium and the Tulare Museum on October 12th. We will be heading out around 8:20 and returing to school around 1:40. Please send a sack lunch (in a paper bag that can be thrown away) with your child for this event. We will have crates for them to place their lunch in.  Also, students will not need to bring their backpacks to school that day. Our two room moms will be attending this field trip, as chaperones, but I am in need of one more parent. The first one to reach out to me via email will be chosen. Entrance fees for both the planetarium and museum will be covered by Mother's Club this year.

Last week I sent home a book report assignment that will be due on Nov. 16th. Please have your child pick a CHAPTER book and start reading to prepare for this valuable project.

We officially start Book Clubs in our reading curriculum this week. The students will read cooperatively, with their assigned group, and act as CIA agents to find clues that help them best understand the story. They will be meeting with their partners daily to discuss reading elements and strategies for comprehension!
