I am Ali Malone and I have a passion for building, creating and doing things myself. I have an AAS in Construction Management from Vermont Technical College, and have a diverse array of professional experiences within the realm of trades. My journey includes working as an energy efficiency technician, implementing energy upgrades in people's homes, refining finishes in a high-end custom furniture shop, and apprenticing as a carpenter for several years. I continued to pursue my passion for building beyond the professional sphere by taking classes at The Port Townsend School of Woodworking in Washington state, volunteering with the Tacoma chapter of Habitat for Humanity and constucting my own 300sq ft tiny house. What I am really excited about is sharing my passion for contstruction by teaching carpentry and home repair skills, especially to the wonderful folks in the female identifing and queer communities. I hope to be an inspiration to my daughter, born in 2020, who I'm eager to pass my skills on to and inspire her to embrace craftsmanship and self-sufficiency. Currently, my family and I are knee-deep in a full house rehab project on the fixer-upper we bought. It was in really bad shape when we got it, but we're determined to turn it into our dream home. When I used to have free time, I loved volunteering with Habitat for Humanity and being on the Board of Directors for the Central Vermont Chapter. Nowadays, my family and rehab project take up all my energy, leaving me little free time. While I miss working with Habitat, I remain committed to giving back to the community in other ways. Let's work together to turn your DIY aspirations into reality!
