The Access for All Field Trip Initiative provides
FREE FIELD TRIP ADMISSION
to Western North Carolina
Title 1 Elementary Schools during the 2024 - 2025 school year!
Schools may schedule multiple field trip experiences with the museum throughout the year to best meet the needs of their students.
A field trip experience to Hands On! includes FREE ADMISSION for students, teachers, and adult chaperones to our recently renovated 13,000-square-foot museum that features a variety of fun and exciting STEAM-themed exhibits.
Hands On! also offers a variety of FREE interactive STEM programs that complement the NC Standard Course of Study and NC PreK Foundations for Early Learning and Development. Click here to view the 2024-2025 Educators Guide
Field Trips can be scheduled between 9am and 5pm, Tuesday through Saturday, September 2024 - June 2025
Schools are responsible for securing transportation to and from Hands On! Children's Museum for their free field trip experience.
Schools are responsible for managing student lunch arrangements. Bagged lunches are permitted and indoor space is available for lunch.
The school submits an Access for All Field Trip application to the Museum.
The Museum reviews the application and evaluates availability for the requested field trip date(s).
The Museum contacts the school to confirm the field trip details and to secure the requested visit date.
Access for All Free Field Trip requests are reviewed, approved, and scheduled on a first-come, first-served basis.
Schools are welcome to schedule multiple field trip experiences to best meet the needs of their students. Please submit one application per field trip experience.
Up to 75 PreK - 1st Grade students can be accommodated within a single day. The maximum student capacity for all other grade levels is 50.

Hands On! Children’s Museum is a place where creativity, imagination, and learning can take off, fly, and land in new and exciting places!
We exist to provie young learners the opportuinity to realize their full potential in the areas of Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Math through play-based learning expereinces.
All of our exhibits are kid-powered, allowing children to explore, discover, and learn by doing. The museum recently completed a 13,000 square foot expansion and renovation featuring fun, safe, and inclusive learning experiences.
Hands On! is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization serving WNC since 2007.Hands On! Children's Museum is located at 318 North Main Street in Downtown Hendersonville.
