Reminders for Senior Year:
See your school counselor to ensure you are taking courses that meet requirements for graduation and college and/or career entrance requirements.
Ensure college applications, scholarship applications and career applications are completed and submitted prior to deadlines. Keep a calendar for important dates and reminders.
Visit and re-visit as needed any colleges and companies who you are considering possibilities for college and career choices.
Research the difference between Early Decision and Early Action. Early decision plans are binding — a student who is accepted as an ED applicant must attend the college. Early action plans are nonbinding — students receive an early response to their application but do not have to commit to the college until the normal reply date of May 1.
As college acceptance letters arrive, explore the colleges further, visit the campuses again, consider financial aid packages offered, Make the choice that is right for you!
Request letters of recommendation from teachers, mentors, and/or school counselors.
Practice and re-take the ACT to earn your best possible score.
Work with your parents to complete the FAFSA. Ask your school counselor or the College and Career Specialist for support as needed.
Build a resume that showcases your accomplishments, employment, and volunteer activities. This information is important for some scholarships and college applications.
