I graduated from Hancock in 2011 so I'm excited to be back in my hometown! I initially chose to study Agricultural Education because of my experience in agriculture on my uncle's farm and my involvement in FFA. Throughout my 4 years at South Dakota State University, I had the opportunity to interact with high school students in a number of different settings and came to love being around kids. In 2015, I graduated with a degree in Agricultural Education - go Jacks! I then had the privilege of teaching agriculture in Alexandria at the high school there for 5 years, where I taught everything from Biotechnology to Welding to Horticulture. In the spring of 2019, my wife and I were married. And now, I am excited to have the opportunity to teach agriculture here at Hancock High School!
In my free time, I enjoy traveling - especially to the mountains! It's just hard to beat the beauty and majesty found in God's creation. I also travel quite frequently to Ohio - that's where my wife is from! Some people may think I'm crazy but I like driving and roadtrips...just getting out on the road and going! Reading is another hobby of mine, from a good ol' Louis L Amour western to a Vince Flynn thriller to personal development books like Patrick Lencioni's books and everything in between! I enjoy hunting but haven't been able to do it nearly as much as I would like lately. I also enjoy music - I can play a little piano and guitar and like to sing in my church or quartet with some guys.
