If I enroll my student in virtual learning, will he/she be able to come back to traditional learning?

  • Yes! Each school will have a procedure to help students transition back to traditional learning.

Is #TeamHancock virtual learning the same as NTI?

  • No! #TeamHancock Virtual Learning is continuation of student learning to help them learn grade-level appropriate standards, develop literacy and vocabulary skills, and remain connected to their traditional classrooms. #TeamHancock Virtual Learning will be more rigorous and time intensive at all grade levels than NTI.

Will #TeamHancock Virtual Learning look the same at all schools?

  • No. Virtual learning will be designed at each level to meet the developmental needs of students.

Can students participate in school sports programs and extra-curricular activities if they are enrolled in #TeamHancock Virtual Learning?

  • Yes. After continuuing to review guidance and the needs of our students, we have made the decision to allow Virtual Learners to participate in extra-curricular activities if families feel it is safe to do so.

Can one student participate in virtual learning while a sibling(s) participate in traditional learning?

  • Yes, HCPS is committed to being flexible to help meet the needs of each individual student and families.

What are options for virtual learning at homes where internet connectivity is poor or unavailable?

  • HCPS will provide appropriate technology for students to use regardless of internet connectivity.

Will students be required to be in front of a screen during “normal school hours” or will they be on a more flexible schedule?

  • Schedules and times for students to be engaged with teachers will be appropriate for their developmental level. Please contact your child's principal for more details about your student's specific time expectations.

How will virtual learning meet students' needs for specials such as PE, art, music, and band?

  • Schools are currently developing models for these curriculums.



How do I enroll my student for #teamHancock Virtual Learning?

  • Using Campus Portal, complete Online Registration for 2020-2021 as soon as possible

  • When prompted, choose "Virtual Learning"
