Absentee Voting
There is NO Early In Person Voting.
All registered Michigan voters can vote by absentee ballot.
Absentee ballots are available and mailed starting Thursday, September 25, 2025 (40 days before the election).
Voters must submit an application to their local clerk to receive a ballot.
You may return your ballot by mail, drop box, or directly to your local clerk’s office.
To avoid postal delays, it’s recommended to return your ballot by Tuesday, October 21, 2025.
Ballots must be received by 8:00 PM on Election Day (November 4, 2025) to be counted.
Voters can also request to join the permanent absentee ballot list to automatically receive a ballot for every election.
A voter must submit an absentee ballot application to their local clerk before an absentee ballot can be sent (unless they are on the permanent absentee ballot list). Absentee ballots are available and distributed beginning on Thursday, September 25, 2025, 40 days before the election.
Michigan voters can decide to be placed on a permanent absentee ballot list. Their local clerk will then automatically mail them an absentee ballot for all local, state, and federal elections.
