Class overview

GREETINGS! Welcome to 6^th grade at Phenix PreK-8 School! I am excited about teaching our new students and look forward to the year’s events. I hope that this will be an enjoyable and challenging year for all involved. 6th Grade Welcome Letter Virtual Learning SY21-22

Make sure you are opening Google Classroom at the beginning of every class to check for lesson instructions. You will use your science study guide EVERYDAY! The presentation will always be posted there as well in case you are absent. Back up notes are added to the Classwork Cabinet. See the link in at the top right.

All science assignments are done on the Quia website (except projects). To complete an assignment on Quia:

1. Go to www.quia.com/web.

2. Log into Quia using your username. It is your first and last name plus the number 232 - firstnamelastname232.

3. Your password is your HCS Google password.

4. Once logged in, click the blue "CLASS WEB PAGE" link.

5. Scroll down to the bottom, click the correct assignment, and complete it. New assignments are added to the bottom.

6. Click “Submit answers” if you are done. Click “Save for later” if you need more time.

7. Complete assignments will be found on the home screen.

• All science work can be redone to have the first two grades averaged together.

• To review the detailed results for each assignment, click the bar graph to the left of the assignment on the home screen.

• If you complete an assignment after the due date, you will need to send me an email at atharpe@hampton.k12.va.us. Quia does NOT SEND NOTIFICATIONS.
