Prior to joining the Langley Elementary resource team, I was a classroom teacher and taught Kindergarten and 2nd grade for a few years in Nebraska, as well as 5th grade in Germany. During my last semester in graduate school, I became the teacher librarian at Machen Elementary, for three years. I took a year-long break with my two new babies before returning to Hampton City Schools at a new library and new school. I grew up across the water, although I was born in New Orleans, LA, and raised in Virginia Beach, VA as a Navy kid. Old Dominion University is my alma mater and I'm a big fan of ODU football. GO Monarchs!!! My husband currently serves in the U.S. Air Force and we have 4 children, a cat, and a dog. As a military family, we've lived and traveled to many places including the Midwest, the Southwest, and Europe. We moved back to Virginia six years ago, and for now, we call Virginia home.
