Elementary Schools

Bassette

Alexis Jones

Miss. Alexis Jones is currently a 5th grade educator at Bassette Elementary School where she has been since the 2018-2019 school year. She is a 2018 graduate of Virginia State University, currently a graduate student at Old Dominion University, and loves dedicating her time to expanding the minds of students.

Ms. Bradford is currently a Math Interventionist for Bassette Elementary. She has worked for Hampton City Schools for nine years, 5 years as a third and 5th grade teacher. 


Ms. Bradford holds a bachelor degree In Interdisciplinary studies and a Masters in Reading from ODU.

Bryan

Fallon Gowans has been a special education teacher with Hampton City Schools for 7 years. She is currently enrolled at Old Dominion University in the Masters in Reading program. This is her first year as 21st Century Coordinator. In Ms. Gowans' free time, she loves to go camping and bake sweet treats. Her vision for this school year is to provide all students with a high-quality education while striving to create responsible students and future leaders. 

I am currently a special education teacher at Bryan Elementary as well as a Site Coordinator for the 21st CCLC program. I received my bachelor's degree from Old Dominion University and my master's from Regent University. I enjoy spending time with family, cooking and eating, watching sports, and mentoring!

AmandA Green

Amanda Green is the B.A.S.E social worker at Mary S. Peake Elementary whose work focuses on removing barriers to ensure the success of each student and family she serves by providing community resources and services.


Jeremy Saunders. I am a native of Hampton, VA. Currently in my 5th year teaching 3rd Grade at Mary T. Christian Elementary and my 2nd year serving as a coordinator for the 21st Century program. 

Forrest

Hi there! I'm Audrey Lavoie and I'm a 5th grade teacher at Forrest Elementary School. I am a 21st Century Coordinator for Forrest. I serve as Senior Coordinator helping with data entry.

Mrs. Hammond has been a special education teacher with Hampton City Schools since 2015. She received her bachelor’s degree from Virginia Commonwealth University and her master’s degree from Liberty University. Mrs. Hammond served one year as a tutor for the 21st Century Program before becoming a site coordinator at Forrest.

Hi all! My name is Aimee Hooper. I have been a teacher with HCS for six years, teaching third and fourth grade at Mary Peake (Tyler) Elementary. I have been a coordinator for the 21st Century program for four amazing years. The best part about this program, for me, is that it gives me a greater opportunity to get to know students and families outside of my own classroom.

Natalie Clark

Hello! My name is Natalie Clark, and I have taught 6th and 7th grade language arts at Lindsay Middle for the past 18 school years. Currently, I teach 7th grade, and I am also the ELA Instructional Leader and 7th grade Chief Deputy. Additionally, I have served for several years as a tutor for the 21st Century Program.

Lachaunda Madison

Hello!  My name is LaChaunda Madison.  I graduated from Austin Peay State Univ. with a B.S. in Chemistry.  This is my third year with Hampton City Schools. I am an eighth grade science teacher and co-coordinator for the 21st Century Program at Lindsay Middle School.

Syms

Ms. Canny has been teaching at Syms Middle School for 6 years and has served as the 21st Century Site Coordinator for 5 years. She graduated with her B.A. in History and M.A. in Secondary Education from CNU and is working towards her Ed.D in Educational Leadership and Policy at FSU. 

I am a middle school math and science teacher and an aspiring administrator, who wants to change the world, one person at a time. I have been working in Hampton City Schools for 6 years and have been involved with 21st Century for 5 years.

Mrs. Lee-Brown has been with HCS for eight years. She currently teaches mathematics at Tarrant Middle School.  She has worked with the 21st Century program for the last seven years.
