The Library Program ensures that students and staff are independent and effective users of information.
Our Students will visit the library once each week for a lesson and book checkout.
Each Hampton City Schools’ Library serves as the hub of information for both students and staff.
Students have access to the library for research, skill instruction, technology training, and reading guidance.
National Standards of Learning:
CHALLENGED MATERIALS
Occasional objections to some materials may be voiced by the public despite the care taken in the selection process and despite the qualifications of persons selecting the materials. When materials are challenged, it is necessary to consider the professional responsibility of the staff to provide relevant resources and the principles of ‘The Freedom to Read Statement’. A parent who wishes to state an objection to a specific item may address his/her concern to the Teacher Librarian or Principal of the child's school.
If parents desire to take further action, they may file a written complaint using the Reconsideration form.
