Vocabulary helps an individual communicate more effectively. By learning new vocabulary we understand different ideas and express our own ideas and thoughts.
Think about this, the next time you read a book with your student, ask them what different words mean, if the student can explain the word GREAT, if not, explain it to them or look it up together. Now the student will have gained a new word for their vocabulary.
