Engaging in these activities can improve fine motor strength and endurance. Eye-hand coordination is also improved. Movement breaks can help your child release some energy and might make it easier to complete academic eLearning assignments.

_____Wash your hands with soap while singing your favorite song.
_____Fix a snack for yourself, after washing your hands!
_____Help prepare a meal.
_____Clean up after a meal.
_____Stretch! Try to touch the sky, spread your arms wide, breath deeply!
_____Practice writing your name. Put a STAR by the one that looks good to you!
_____Write a short story about something you like.
_____Do a puzzle or maze.
_____Read a book to your brother or sister.
_____Do an activity that is attached to this packet.
_____Vacuum or sweep the floor.
_____Spend 30 minutes organizing your bedroom.
_____Put your dirty laundry where it needs to be for washing.
_____Color a page out of your favorite coloring book.
_____Make Play Dough (roll it, cut it, hide things in it, etc.) To make the dough, combine 1 cup of fine salt and 1 cup of flour in a bowl and mix. Once it is mixed well, add 1⁄2 cup water and knead and form the dough until it is smooth.

_____Play a card game or a board game.
_____Do 10 jumping jacks, then clap your hands 10 times.
_____Blow up a balloon and throw it in the air, but don’t let it hit the floor!
_____Make a picture. Draw circles, squares, triangles and diamonds in your picture.

_____Crumple scrap paper with your hands and “shoot baskets” into your recycling container.

_____ Pick up objects (blocks, cotton balls, pom-poms, crumpled balls of paper, counters, etc.) using various-sized tongs, tweezers or clothespins.
_____ Stack objects (coins, cards, checkers, blocks, etc.).
_____ Screw and unscrew objects such as nuts and bolts, caps from jars, etc.
_____Cut straight and curved lines/shapes drawn on paper, cloth, etc., with scissors.
_____Shuffle cards, deal cards one by one, turn cards over.
_____Put rubber bands around various-sized containers and objects.
_____Move spoonfuls of small objects from one bowl to another.
_____Use scissors to cut playdoh for a finger “workout.”
_____Put paper clips onto paper.
_____Color using the flat side of a crayon. Put paper over leaves, stencils, and other objects so that the child gets sensory feedback as he colors.
_____Use sprayer bottles filled with water and sponges to have the child “clean” a desk or table, then squeeze the excess water into a dish pan. This is a great pre-scissor skill activity.
