Hi! My name is Vaughn Tackmann, and I am a member of the Track and Field coaching staff at Hamline University. The upcoming season will be my fifth season at Hamline and my thirteenth season coaching overall.

I grew up in Arlington, Minnesota, and attended Luther College in Decorah, Iowa, where I graduated with a degree in Environmental Studies. After spending two years working in environmental education, I transitioned into coaching. The most rewarding part of my profession is the relationships I get to build with student-athletes. Being part of a team and working toward a common goal has a unique ability to bring people together.

In 2019, I earned my master’s degree from Carthage College in Kenosha, Wisconsin. A couple of years later, I moved back to Minnesota and got married. My wife, Kayla, and I live in Roseville. We welcomed our son, Gus, in December 2023, and we are excited to welcome Baby T #2 this spring!
