Sink or Swim is a Special Topics Section for Piper Realism. During the on going COVID-19 Pandemic, the arts and culture industry in the Twin Cities has taken a severe hit. Restaurants, Clubs, and Theaters have all been forced to either close their doors or develop new ways to stay afloat now that they cannot have people physically in their space. In reporting on these stories, Sink or Swim asks what the name implies, how are businesses and individuals in the arts learning to swim, or beginning to sink.
